The contact centre is clinician led, so you will have the ability to speak directly with a clinician who will assess you over the phone. Medical records are shared with your GP practice to ensure that they are aware of your current health status.
Yes, if you change your mind you can cancel. There is a 14 day cooling off period once you’ve signed up to the service. Following this, you are required to give 2 months notice in writing as per the Terms and Conditions.
Yes, we can turn it off remotely at you can choose not to continue with home monitoring.
There are no cameras or microphones, so your conversations cannot be heard by anyone, and you are not seen. The sensors track movement only.
No, it doesn’t make any noise and there are only very small lights on the sensors indicating they have been triggered.
The hub is about 10cm across and each of the motion (3) and door (2) sensors is smaller than a matchbox. While the appliance sensor looks like a power adapter.
For as long as you feel it is helping support you to live independently at home. If your needs change, you may decide that PHL Youla is no longer the right system to support you and it may be time to look for an alternative method of support.
£55 per week. Payment it taken via Direct Debit once a month. Your first payment is taken when the installation of the equipment is complete. Your payment details are captured when you complete the forms on our website when you go through the buying process.

When your installation takes place you’ll receive an oximeter, a thermometer and a Blood Pressure machine. This equipment is linked to the Youla hub, so when you take medical readings the results are automatically sent to the Youla dashboard, without you having to do anything. This helps us to understand how well or unwell you are. Regular use of this equipment will help establish your baseline readings and ensure that our clinicians can support you remotely.Â

The system is on all the time however, all the information is stored on an NHS compliant database and is used for no other purpose other than helping manage care and support for you in your home. The team looking after the service are fully trained and DBS checked to work across NHS services.
The sensors only send basic information about movements of the doors, fridge and use of the kettle in your home. This information is used to learn what your ‘normal’ patterns are. When your ‘normal’ changes we contact you to see if you require additional help. This might be that your front door is open, or that you don’t make your usual cup of tea in the morning.
PHL Youla hub runs on very low energy so uses very little electricity and all the sensors are battery powered.
