I recently had a hip replacement and was so happy to get back to my own home to recover that it’s made me determined to find a way to stay in my home as long as possible. Nursing homes are not for me, and I don’t like the idea of having carers coming into my home. My daughter heard about PHL Youla and gave me a brochure. I didn’t like the idea of sensors in my home at first, but when I found out more, I realised that the sensors don’t infringe on my privacy at all. There are no cameras, and no one can hear me. My daughter has legal power of attorney for me, so she signed me up on the PHL Youla website.
Recently, I woke up and felt a bit funny and didn’t get up and make my usual cup of tea. Within an hour the phone went and a lovely lady from PHL Youla asked me how I was feeling as I’d not used the kettle or opened the fridge door as I usually do. Well, I was so surprised but also so relieved to receive the call. We had a chat and I ended up speaking to one of PHL Youla’s GPs who helped me tremendously and got me a prescription. I feel very safe and looked after on the PHL Youla service.
